(Cucumis melo)
Historic heirloom grown already at the end of the 18th century and officially sold in the USA at the beginning of the 19th century. It was illustrated for the first time in France in 1854 in the Vilmorin Index.
American Melon. The fruits are roughly netted and reach a diameter of 10 - 12 cm and a weight of about 700 - 900 g. The flesh is light green, sweet and develops a delicate aroma. It is highly recommended to start sowing a preculture in pots at the beginning of April. Plant can be grown up a trellis.
