Chirimen is a Japanese variety which has probably been bred in China. It came to the USA around 1927. Though it is a fantastic looking variety, the interest waned in the last few years, so that seeds are difficult to find.
Fruits: beige, cylindrical, flattened in the front and in the back; Size (DxH): 12 - 15 cm x 11 - 14 cm; Flesh: orange; 3 cm thick, firm; sweet and fruity, nutty aroma;
